Sarwani, A Glimpse of the Nostalgic Reality TV Show in the Early 2000s 'Bedah Rumah'

Published on

One sunny afternoon in early December, amidst the serene setting of Serdang Kullon Village in Panongan-Tangerang District, a heartwarming event unfolded. Chief Police Brigadier (Bripka) Prima Yapka, accompanied by a dedicated group of Serdang residents, were overcome with tears of joy as they put the final touches on Sarwani's house renovation.

It could have been a scene we remembered from nostalgic reality TV shows in the early 2000s, like "Bedah Rumah" or even "Uang Kaget"—where those in need were presented with unexpected fortunes such as home repairs or financial support.

Captured by the lenses of the Tanggerang Regency Police on December 4, 2017, a poignant image showcases the transformation of Sarwani's house during its renovation in Tanggerang District.

In just two weeks, Sarwani's modest dwelling underwent a remarkable transformation, making it more suitable for living. Her once fragile home now stands ready to welcome her with comfort. Sarwani herself still feels as if she’s dreaming, marveling at how her humble abode has been rebuilt.

"I don't know the exact reason, but my heart was moved to help her, despite my limitations," Chief Police Brigadier (Bripka) Prima Yapka humbly shared.

Prima Yapka’s decision to help Sarwani came during a Sambang Desa visit, where he witnessed firsthand the vulnerable state of her residence. The sight inspired an unwavering determination to spearhead the renovation effort. With the support of compassionate local residents, the project moved swiftly, culminating in its successful and timely completion.

"Chief Police Brigadier Prima Yapka's initiative to rebuild Sarwani's house is truly inspiring. It reminds us once again of the enduring power of kindness," shared Panongan Police Commissioner Adjutant (AKP) Trisno Tahan Uji.

AKP Trisno Tahan Uji also expressed profound pride in Prima Yapka, noting that police officers, like everyone else, have hearts that can be deeply moved. He praised Prima's altruistic deed as a shining example of compassion in today’s world.
