Rumanami: My Personal Take

For a split second, I considered canceling my reservation at Rumanami. Something about the unread chats on Instagram made me want to cancel this staycation plan on the spur of the moment. However, the overwhelming dynamics at work that day somehow convinced me otherwise. Rather, I texted my twin sister to see whether she was ready for the plan.
Perched in South Jakarta, Rumanami Residence, reminds me of that secret hideaway where we can all unwind. It's located on Benda Street No. 36, thirty minutes away from the heart of Jakarta, so it doesn't take much to get away from the city grinds. Except for me, who currently resides in Cengkareng a.k.a West Jakarta Border (or simply call it Tanggerang if you want). It took me one and a half hours to reach this hotel though.
Upon my arrival, guests were streaming into the lobby. We were all nestled here, hiding away, in the thick of this dire coronavirus crisis. I don't know about them, but it was a personal choice for me, and I would not advise you to do so. However, even if this place is open in the midst of all of this, they still advise people to follow the norm regarding health and safety measurements. It's clear from the signs on every corner advising everyone to wear masks and everything. Nonetheless, I'm sure you'd like to see more of this hotel, so here we go:
ARCHITECTURE:
Cliché to say, but yeah reputation precedes this red brick hotel. Inside the lobby, there is a real mastery of stair-work which looks just exemplary dope if you snap a photo from above; it’s classic and contemporary at the same time with the red brick wall, natural wood element, and greenery ambiance all around.
When I entered the room, the minimalist interior did not disappoint me either. They keep things unpretentious and cozy here with minimal timber furniture. I saw this scenic spot a few days ago on Instagram and what I had seen online clearly did not let me down. No wonder this place went viral in just two weeks after the opening!
HOSPITALITY:
As I checked in, the receptionist guy had not been fully prepared. He was still checking whether the room was ready with the staff on the phone. I needed to wait for like ten minutes for the room to be ready.
EATERY:
Apart from the incomplete menu where I could only order fried rice, the eatery was fine considering the hotel rate was so affordable and we also got a free breakfast for two in the morning. Not to mention, the coffee was great too!
BATHROOM AMENITIES:
My main issue with the visit was the lack of essential toiletries, like toothpaste, shampoo, and a toothbrush (unless I somehow missed them). It caught me off guard, and I had to make a quick trip to the nearest grocery store. But then again, considering this three-star hotel has a great soothing view and is still relatively new, I can understand. More or less, I like the ambiance at Rumanami and will definitely visit again. Four-star!
